Luego de a\u00f1os sin intervenci\u00f3n, el Pozo 1-S en Ciudad Sahag\u00fan est\u00e1 recibiendo mantenimiento mayor y se proyecta que aumente su capacidad en un 40 %, gracias a los trabajos gestionados por el presidente municipal Alfredo Gonz\u00e1lez Quiroz.
\nEn una zona donde las quejas por baja presi\u00f3n son parte de la rutina, el edil decidi\u00f3 meter mano al pozo, cuya producci\u00f3n se hab\u00eda desplomado a apenas 25 litros por segundo. La orden fue clara: sacudirle los a\u00f1os de sarro y devolverle la potencia que alguna vez sostuvo el suministro en esta parte del municipio.
\nEl procedimiento\u2014conocido como \u201ccepillado\u201d\u2014consiste en remover incrustaciones internas, sedimentos y residuos acumulados que obstruyen la tuber\u00eda. Las maniobras incluyen desmontaje de bomba, cepillado mec\u00e1nico.
\nQuiroz defendi\u00f3 la estrategia con firmeza: \u201cEs mejor reparar y dar mantenimiento a lo que ya tenemos que salir a comprar equipo nuevo e innecesario; gastar por gastar no es opci\u00f3n\u201d.
